Home…

We have now been home for two days! Doug is back to work and I am still on vacation until September 8th. I have had two very productive days! Organizing, cleaning, and of course, THE PURGING HAS BEGUN!!

I am normally a very organized person but this summer it seems to have gotten away from me. After being gone from home basically all summer things have gone by the wayside. Yes, Doug and Carlie managed to keep the house under control but it is in need of a major re-organization.

My computer desk was a mass of receipts that needed to be sorted, filed or tossed. Once that was completed I moved onto the living room, re-arranged the furniture, did laundry and housework.

Today I spent the entire day in the kitchen: cleaning the cupboards, drawers, fridge (there was a science experiment going on in there) and freezer. I made three trips down to the compacter! We have lived here since 2003 and I am amazed at how much "stuff" we have accumulated!!

I even made some $$ today! Yesterday I put an ad on Craig's List and I sold the item today!..gone is Tucker's wire enclosure!!..It now has a new home with a puppy named TOMO!! I just love Craig's List..best thing ever..my junk is someone else's treasure!!

As I sit here tonight, the house is quiet! Doug has gone to bed, Carlie is at work, and the BOYZ (Tucker and Oliver) are sleeping as well. Life is good!!..my house is starting to be organized..We still have a long way to go but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Tomorrow..??..time to clean the oven..oh not to worry..it's self cleaning so it is not that much of a chore!!

Road trip??..no plans as yet...suppose to rain all weekend..what is up with that??????

I found this poem on Facebook this evening..and i felt compelled to share it..

 Moments in Life..

There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real!
When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the
closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go;
be what you want to be, because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past;
you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end,you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.
Don't count the years-count the memories...........
