Rest in Peace "BO-DIE"

It is with a heavy heart that I write this entry today..

Through the wonders of the internet, two years ago we met our four-legged friend, Bodie and his human companions,Gordon and Juanita.

We followed their travels to Alaska in 2008, reading their journal entries as they explored the great state of Alaska and our province of British Columbia.  We finally met  when they were in the state of Washington in September 2008.  We then had the pleasure of spending two glorious weeks on the Oregon Coast in 2009 with them as our tour guides...they were now new friends that we felt we had known forever....We met once more in Sequim, Washington..and as we parted it..we said ..so long...not thinking that this would be the last time we would see Bodie..

Rest in Peace Bodie..you had a great life filled with lots of adventures..and many roads travelled..you will be missed but not forgotten.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  1. Doug and Sue,

Thanks for the tribute to our little friend Bodie. He touched a lot of lives for sure!!

There is a big open space in our home on wheels but we will fill the place with friends and head on down the road to new adventures.

Bodie enjoyed his brief time with the both of you and your canine companion Tucker. Give your furry friend as many hugs as you can and be sure to tell him to sleep well every night. Give him a big hug from his friends on the Oregon coast.
