Stress Management?

No matter what life style you live..there is stress….the stix and bricks life has stress as does the rv life….just a different load of problems…

We both know that but some days we wonder how to deal with the stress of every day life…

I had always thought that life would be easier as we got older…don’t really know if it is easier or just a different set of issues…be it money, kids, work or family issues..they will follow no matter what…

We just need a method to deal with it all…

I got an email that shows how to deal with stress…

‘ a lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience..he raised a glass of water and asked ‘how heavy is this glass of water?”…

answers all ranged from 20 grams to 500 grams.

The lecturer replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter.. it depends on how long you try to hold it.

If you hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem..If you hold it for  an hour, you will have an ache in you right arm..if you hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance..in each case, it’s the same weight, but the  longer you hold it, the heavier it becomes”.

He continued…”and that’s the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on.”

“as with the glass of water, you will have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.  When we are refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.”

“So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work, down..don’t carry it home..you can pick it up tomorrow.”

“Whatever burdens you are carrying now, Let them down for a moment if you can.  So, my friend, put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don’t pick it up again until after you have rested for a while”

* never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won’t have a leg to stand on.

*we could learn a lot from crayons..Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull..some have weird names and all are different colours…but they all have to live in the same box.

* a truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

*some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

* birthdays are good for you..the more you, have the longer you live.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today..I did…

So as for the stress in our life?..we are going to put the ‘glass down’ for now..and pick it up when we are rested….so for now we will try and be happy..life goes on..and so will we.

  1. I like the stress relief idea, but carrying it out can be tough sometimes. If we can set our worries down for awhile it has to be better for us.

With that in mind-have a relaxed day- We did!

  2. What a profound message you wrote today. Thank you, Sue! Put that glass down for a good long time and don't pick it up again unless you have to.

  3. So like the analogy of the water glass and holding it for different amounts of time and us holding onto our burdens. Thanks for the reminder that it is good for us to lay down our burdens.

Wishing you a terrific day however you spend it.

  5. Just opening your blog and seeing the Tuckster sitting on the top usually makes my day easier. I find that once in awhile picking up the glass and emptying the High Life Light that is in it makes it a whole ot less stressful. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

I love the picture you put up of Bruce and Margie. Was it from their blog? I might change the one I have on my blog. They look so happy in this picture.
