the dreaded comment?

Well..it is now my turn to have the comment that is bit disconcerting….the good ole anonymous commenter has struck ‘Bigdawg and Freeway’..

After 348 blog posts and 1955 comments..I have been hit!!

Were my feelings hurt?..at first I will admit they were…I can only hope that this ‘anonymous commenter’, one day will show his face to all of us in blogville..it is pretty darn easy to make a ‘nasty comment’ on someone’s  blog with no regard for anyone’s feelings when you are signed in as “anonymous”!

what did he say?…

“Sue, how did you make it to your age without learning how to cook a pancake, and Doug you need to grow a pair. The door swings both ways”

Did I reply ..darn tootin’

‘If you must know Mr. Anonymous we are trying hard to eliminate bread, pasta, rice and potatoes from our diet..hence the reasoning behind the no pancakes ..so after our hard work yesterday I gave in..and by the way I do know how to make stinkin pancakes ! Thanks for reading Bigdawg and Freeway..we aim to entertain!’

after I wrote that..I thought some more and continued with my rant..

‘And as for growing a pair?..come out from behind your anonymous pen name and show us all who you are!’

So there you have it dear bloggin’ buddies..you all know who you are…watch out for the …dreaded commenter!..

Who would have thought ‘stinkin pancakes’ would be so controversial..first we had the great Lemon Caper over at Bayfield Bunch..and now the pancakes!!

you never know where he may strike next..!!..don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

Have a great day!..I plan to!!

  1. I love it! "We aim to entertain!"

You put anonymous in his/her place. Probably somebody green with envy, it usually is...

By the way, I'm green with envy too, you have so many followers! Good on ya!

  2. Going out for pancakes is a special treat. I cook fantastic breakfasts, but we still enjoy treating ourselves once in a while. It has nothing to do with ability to cook.

  3. You know, you have control over what comments make your post and which ones don't.
I've had my share of negativity but I don't publish them or let them get to me.

  4. sometimes the negative comments are good to post..once in a while..and since this was my first one?..I felt the need to share..this one didn't get to me..I got back at it!!

  5. Amen, great comeback. I have this creep "Peter" who makes nasty comments then wants to know why I don't publish them. It is MY blog and I will publish what I want and "Peter" has no contact info either, kind of like your anonymous.

  6. I have a person who once in awhile posts something vulgar so I know how you feel. I wouldn't worry about a pin head who doesn't have the stones to post with their real name so we all know who needs to grow a pair and it ain't you. :)

  7. When I first read that comment from Anonymous on your blog, I was furious. But the more I think about it, the funnier it got because it was so absolutely stupid. And your reply was perfect.

  8. I love it, Sue. You handled Anonymous with humor and made him/her look like a fool. I'm glad you didn't take this personally and get worked into a fit of rage because then Anonymous wins. I'm also happy to see you had the courage and smarts to leave the comment on so we could all see how truly stupid it was. Good job!! Others could learn from you!

  10. I think that being in blogland is a little like living in a small town. ;) Sometimes in a positive way and sometimes not so much. LOL Love your response to the comment!! :) Have a great day!! :)

  11. I too have an annonymous commenter, but whoever they are just try to advertise some commercial this or that and I just send them to the spam bucket. I would have done the same thing and you did good Sue. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

  12. Some people live to hurt others. Stay strong. I think they just want to bring you "DOWN" to their level. I think I would have just deleted it and went on with my day, but I know it takes different strokes for different folks. You go girl!!!!

  13. Good for you! Anonymous needs more than a pair! :)

  14. If you gotta comment as anonymous, you must not have any pride in what you are writing...and justly so....
    YOU GO SUE!!!!!!

  15. You go girl! What an ugly comment. I think you handled it really well.

  16. First off,it seems that a true non-blogger has entered the blogging arena. It is sad if all they have to do is be jealous and make ignorant comments on someone's blog. I hope that this is not going to be a trend.
Secondly, it seems anonymous needs to grow a pair and not hide behind anonymity.

  17. I'm with Pidge on this one. I'd take just a split second of my time and hit the delete key. Life is too short to waste my valuable time on stupid, foolish people.

  20. I laughed so hard!

‘And as for growing a pair?..come out from behind your anonymous pen name and show us all who you are!’

    here here!

Life is too short to get in a frenzie over someone who has no life so wants to rain down on others! If we all do this I think we take away their negativity all around so hopefully we can all follow your trend when those silly negative comments come in :) I know I will!

  21. Well, you have to admit that the old anonymous commenter adds a little variety and excitement to our blog world. And I have empathy for your hurt feelings!

  22. It takes all kinds to make a world - idiots too, sadly. Great comeback with your response. I could care less what a shadow commentator has to say. It's meaningless and frivolous.

  23. I agree with the previous commenters. I realized too late that I did not handle my rude commenter in the best fashion. Some folks are easier fodder for those egotists & some of us are just a little too honestly revealing with our feelings having a tendency to leave the door unlocked & wide open for any scum bag to take a shot. Makes some of us easy targets for the jerks. I was sooooo encouraged by the outpouring of positive thoughts & feelings by my fellow bloggers in regards to this 'negative commenter thing' & at the same time disappointed in a fellow blogger who seized the opportunity to attack me on a personal level again. I don't have the tough skin a lot of you folks have but that sure has been changing lately in light of all that has been going on.

  24. You rock, lady! Obvious the poster hasn't a "set" of his own. Loved your comeback.

  25. Ignoring ignorance is the best solution. For the ignorant feed off of your reactions. So next time just disable and delete. :)

  26. I thought your reply to "anonymous" was great, Sue!

  27. Good reply! At least this generates some increased blood flow:)

  28. Sue you are too funny. I'm a couple of days behind in my blog reading so thanks for the synopsis on today's blog. GREAT comeback!
