typical weekend…

just another weekend at our house..filled with dog walking along the dyke…housework, laundry, errands and grocery shopping…IMG_5612

it was an early walk this morning…quiet and peaceful..only a few dog walkers…just the three of us….Tucker avoided the water…and the mud..so he actually came home clean!..minus his ball though…

caught the two of them on our bed..wrestling…

This afternoon…it is race day at Hastings Park..Victory with Class  is running in the sixth race..(aka Jazz)…better go and place my bets…

$10 to win and another $5 for win, place or show…there is only five horses in her race so maybe we come out ahead with some extra cash??..also placed a $2 bet on “Nuj Nuj Wink Wink” to win..just for fun…thought the name was funny… We remember that name from last year…

We are home from the race track..did she win?…

It was a beautiful day…a bit chilly but the sky was blue and just a few clouds…

our money is on #2…Victory with Class…Jazz..

“NUJ NUJ WINK WINK was away alertly, cleared to get the rail going into the  first turn, repelled a challenge from PIGTAILS before the quarter pole, pulled clear of that rival before the final turn.  VICTORY WITH CLASS broke sharply, was allowed to settle off the leader going into the first turn, looked to be a danger  at the top of the stretch but was unable to make up ground late. PIGTALES was away alertly, engaged the winner before the final turn but couldn’t match strides with that one. INVESTSOURCE  unhurried early, and was never a factor. MISTY MEMORY was allowed to settle at the back of the field , and never made her presence felt.”

there you have the re-cap folks..did our ‘girl’ win?..no not this time..she came in second beaten by 1 3/4 lengths!..not a bad finish for her first race of the year…

cost of today?

$10 to park

$10 for lunch

Our betting account …$42.50-$27(bets)+ $16.15(our winnings)= $31.65 left for next time…

Supporting the ‘family horses’?..priceless…

Now onto the Vancouver Canucks vs. Chicago Blackhawks..

‎'Our father who art in Vancouver, hockey be thy name. Thy will be done. The Cup will be won. On the ice, as well as in the stands. Give us this day our hockey sticks, and forgive us our penalties, as we forgive those who cross-check against us. And lead us not into elimination, but deliver us to victory. In the name of the fans, Lord Stanley, and in the name of da Canucks. Amen!'

  6. The video reminds me of our days in the old rented farm house years ago when Max grew up with a whole host of barn cats & a couple house cats. They all got along great. Always love to watch animals playing together.

As for the hockey....The Hawks never should have lost half the championship team...They just aren't the same, as you can see..
