sometimes it is all about the….

…people, places and things??

our continuation of our one day vacation…our home for the night is the Westin Bear Mountain Resort…

a lovely room with two queen size beds…a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker..

there is even a small patio..with a view of the ‘parking lot’..but nice still the same..IMG_5894IMG_5893

at least we can see ‘Freeway’ out in the parking lot…

We checked into the hotel around 330 pm after our lovely tour!..we had a bit of a rest…showered and we were back in the jeep heading to Rick and Paulette’s for a delicious dinner..but not before we stopped a couple of the view points along the Malahat Highway..

on the menu was  Lasagna, garlic bread, spinach salad with strawberries and poppy seed dressing..and the ever famous NAPOLEANS for dessert..{I was hoping  for this..and Paulette came through..she read my mind!!}

the calories were ‘removed’ before consuming!!..delicious!!!

as many of you know, Paulette is an amazing quilter..the house is decorated with so many lovingly made quilts!..I took just a small sampling of some of her handiwork…IMG_5911IMG_5912IMG_5913IMG_5914IMG_5915IMG_5918IMG_5920IMG_5921

thank you so much for sharing  this day with us, Rick and Paulette..it was great to meet you, finally..and we know our paths will cross again…

so as I sit here and ponder this lovely day we had..Doug is sleeping..I have been awake since 430 this morning…time to call it a day and a  night..good night from the Westin Bear Mountain..tomorrow we will head home with thoughts of this day filled with people, places, pictures, food, great views..and lovely memories that we will cherish!

  1. A very nice ending to your day ... those are indeed lovely quilts ... Paulette knows what she's doing. My mom does quilting on a small scale, but it's not a craft that caught on with me.
