Dawg gone it…

We got a little taste of what it would be like to be able to stay in the campground and watch all the ‘weekenders’  mass exodus…

No we didn’t stay another day..we just paid the nominal fee of $20.17 to stay until this afternoon rather than having to depart with all the rest of them…

where did everybody go???

oh..there was still a few people who were lucky enough not to have to head ‘home’…

We made the most of the extra time…some were happier than others…can you say ‘airborne’????

one more time please!!

since the sticks were in short supply..we used a water bottle…that was until Tucker poked a hole in it with his over zealous enthusiasm…

onward to one geocache….’The end of the line’…at the Albion Ferry Dock….#49…

  1. Loved the idea of staying after most everyone left. That is one of my favorite things to do. I used to dread having to pack up and head out on Sunday to be ready for work on Monday.

Tucker should enjoyed his extra time!

  2. Tucher looks like a very happy dog! I had a lab that lived for the water. When she was a pup we had a big plastic kid pool for her and she would just lay in it.

  3. Ahhh, yes....it's always nice after all of the weekenders leave, isn't it. Tucker looks like he was having way to much fun! Hope things all worked out in the new rig. Each successful trip just makes camping that much more less expensive. Loved the pictures.

  4. Great pics of your weekend. Too bad it had to go so fast but at least you had really great weather.

Tucker will be a tired boy tonight!

  5. Bet you had a great time with your Little Dawg. And your Tucker Dawg looks like he had a great time too.

  6. Yup, it's nice to extend the eventual check-out time as long as possible. In this case, it was about the destination, not the journey, but dang, that Little Dawg looks so good behind your Jeep!

  7. I think the only reason for water on this Planet is for dog's to play in it. I would have gladly paid the money as well just to be out of the crush of people leaving the park.

  8. Ah yes ... the extension and the quiet aftermath ... we've done that on a few occasions ... it was worth the traffic we had to fight later when we finally headed home.

  9. Hanging around a little longer is almost always a good idea.
Once upon a time, when a few of my buddies and I would go to Mosport for the weekend in the motorhome, we'd make sure to stay over on the Sunday night as well, after all the activities were over. It was free to stay another day, and was so much more stress free watching all the fans and racers trying to get out of the gates and fight their way either home or to the next venue. We had to go back through Toronto to get to Burlington, and we had very little desire to do that on a Sunday night.

  11. At our favorite nearby campground (9 miles), we are able to do a late checkout, $10.50 to stay until 7 PM. We do that every time, it makes the too short weekend seem so much longer.

The pup looks great behing your Jeep. Hope you find the time for some longer trips.

  12. I didn't know you can do a late checkout - I'll have to keep that in mind for future.

  15. Tucker could teach Raider that water isn't bad!
Bath time is always a challenge!
He's an embarrassment to his breed! :)
