Day 2 of our Oregon coast stay, started out to be a bit cloudy but the winds seem to have subsided at least for our morning coffee..
(which by the way tasted horrible..after having the tent trailer for a year we finally had a reason to connect the water filter..mucho better now)
We spent the afternoon touring around..heading towards Ecola State Park..
..as you can see the scenery was amazing from the view point..
our ride-along- companions..
Dave and Carol..pretty in purple..
..and us and the ‘golden boy’..
.and the Tillamook Lighthouse..
..we found out later that this lighthouse is privately owned and is now used as a ‘columbarium?’..a place to store ‘remains’ as in dead people’s ashes?..she is known as ‘Terribly Tilly’..
..Tucker made a few new friends..maybe we should charge a dollar a pat?..these three little girls were originally from Russia, but now call the Pacific Northwest home..the littlest one thought Tucker’s tail was funny!!
..Next stop was Cannon Beach..
..a run on the beach for Tucker..
..he only rolled in one dead bird..
..time to head back towards Manzanita..in the hopes of finding a parking space so we could go out of lunch..no such luck..the sun was out by this point and parking the jeep and leaving Tucker in the vehicle in the sun was not an option..
We headed towards the campground but we stopped off at one of the view points along Highway 101..
this is ‘our beach’ Nehalem State Park..
the balance of our afternoon was spent relaxing in the sunshine and then before dinner we took a walk over the Nehalem Bay so Tucker could have yet another run..
there is he..making his usual ‘grand entrance’..
love all the driftwood..
..our second day ended with a campfire…the firewood courtesy of our ‘neighbours’!!
