Single digits?

Yes, we are down to ‘single digits’..

No, I am not talking about: fingers or the temperature..

If you have been paying attention, you know we are talking about our ‘countdown’ to our ‘next life’..

‘a much appreciated gift from our dear friends’..won’t take up much room but the love and support we received from them surely will’

Yes, it seems that once you realize you only have ‘one life’..this realization makes you want to start on your ‘next  life’…sure wish I was a cat with nine lives?

So, yes I have been guilty of ‘counting down’ the days for the past few months..

But now the numbers have hit the ‘single digits’..

The day that I have been ‘counting down to’ will be here in nine more working days..

Has there been any ‘freak-outs’ ..no, just a few sleepless nights as we try and figure out our ‘transition phase’..

So for those of you who have made that ‘transition’ from ‘house to rv’ you know exactly what I  am  talking about..

I won’t bore you all with the day to day, purging and re-organizing that has been going on over the past few weeks, but let’s just suffice to say that ‘we are getting there’..

Yes, the process of ‘downsizing’ can be trying at times but the reality of the ‘freedom’  out-weighs all the time that we have spent over the past few months..sorting, selling and donating.

One day soon this will be a ‘distant memory’..and for that we will both be most grateful..

It has been long road since that summer in 2008..but now the ‘new beginning’ is becoming a reality.

stay tuned..there will be more to come..

  5. Pretty exciting stuff for sure. Nothing like a little apprehension mixed in with that excitement to really put the sizzle into the moment. Good for you guys in staying the course in pursuit of your dreams. Just days left now until a major lifestyle change. Oh the wonderment of life. Wishing you guys all the best:))

  6. xI am SO happy for you! You encouraged me when we were struggling, and now look. You are about to be free too! I found that it took several months before our "story" centered on RVing instead of selling the house and down sizing. It also has taken some months to shift from Vacation mode to "this is our life" We celebrated one year on April 1st. and what a great year of new life it has been. I'm really looking forward to meeting you on the road sometime. Happy Trails.

  9. What a great mentor Merikay can be for you, Sue! They worked so hard during that transition phase so that can be an inspiration when you read about their full time life now. Curious, as Canadians, will you full time in the summers in your beautiful BC? Looking forward to following along on your journey, and hope to see you in Oregon before long as well!

  13. I don't know from my own experience exactly what you have been going through during your countdown, but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested in what you have been doing. Nine more days, wow! You have been looking forward to this for a LONG time. Your plans have morphed a few times along the way, but that's life! Keep us posted!

  15. I know it seems like the day will NEVER come, but it does, finally. I'll never forget driving through Los Angeles during rush hour in the rain, heading for my daughters house on my first day "on the road." Talk about excited, nervous, and so afraid I'd crash my house. (I was supposed to leave the next morning, but was too excited to wait, and decided - heck, I'm packed, what am I waiting for?) I wish you guys many, many happy miles ahead. :)
