Our last bit of time at Monck Park just seemed to fly on by..
It was a busy time at the park.. families trying to squeeze in one last weekend of fun before the kids head on back to school..
We worked through the last weekend with mixed feelings..sad to be leaving, yet happy to leaving also…
one last shift in the gatehouse..
..one last bear to chase out of the park..
the last load of laundry..
and before we knew it ..all the scheduled shifts were done so we knew it was time..
We submitted our hours via email..handed our keys in..and that was it..
Our home for five months is no longer..it is time for a change..
Time to pack everything up
and hook up the trailer..
Steve and Dianne are ready to roll too..
but there was time for one last campfire and happy hour!
So as our work time at Monck Park comes to an end…
..so with ‘no fan fare’..we headed out..we got us a ‘convoy’!
It was a rainy morning, but there was sunny smiles in both vehicles as we headed towards Merritt..
and then onwards to Logan Lake..
..a quick stop at the sani- dump to load up with fresh water..
..this ‘big rig’ looks a tad familiar..
..follow the bouncing bikes and watch out for the cows?
Destination: Tunkwa Provincial Park..
We are staying at Leighton North..
We are backed into the site next door…not too far but just far enough..
..the rain was still coming down and before long we are all inside our respective ‘homes’ ..
..we have a new view out the back window..
..before long the rain let up and we managed to get outside for a walk..
..and then ‘magically it was ‘happy hour’ time..wine o’clock!!
..our first day of ‘no work’ ended with a campfire, hot dogs and a bit of television..
maybe the sun will shine tomorrow?
