April 4-15, 2016
One could say where did the past six months go, but to
us there were times that the days just seemed to run one into the other..
yes the sun finally did come out and the blue sky along with it
Steve and Dianne stayed a few extra days and we made the most of our time together..
there was time for Rumikube
and just a ‘few drinks?’
winery touring yet again..The Blasted Church Winery was closed for renovations?
but at least Tickleberries was open for business!
We, of course went out for lunch once or twice?
Papa’s Firehall Bistro on a cloudy day..
nachos and beer and a quick tour of the beer making facilities in the basement..
We walked the main street of Osoyoos and made the customary stop at the ‘must see’ Home Hardware’..
Steve managed to find one item he ‘had no intention of purchasing?’..brought back a few memories for all of us!
We will be using these ‘items’ soon enough!
Another lunch date at the Owl Pub..tell me why we never stopped here before?
The food was delicious!
chicken salad for me and Doug had an Owl Burger..
Meantime back at the park ..the snow birds have begun migrating back!
Russ and Barb and Saphira returned..
a bright, shiny new Rv for them!!
they even brought us a gift..
a ‘sign’ and two chocolate bars!!
with the snow birds arriving..
it also meant our visit with Steve and Dianne was coming to an end..
yet again we say ‘so long’ as they make the trek towards Fort Langley..
our paths will cross again this summer so it won’t be long and we will see them again!
‘there goes my ‘cookie supply?’
Time for us start the ‘to do list’ ..these wheels will be rolling soon!
first thing was to remove the wooden deck and stairs..we need to get use to the rv stairs again!
the slide went in..just to make sure it still works..and an application of lubricant..
flush the hot water tank and change out the anode rod.
time for a new one?
tires checked, tanks dumped and finally after six months to day we are the ones ‘leaving’!
the boys are loaded and we said our ‘so longs’ to our neighbours..
we survived our first winter!!..
just a short travel day today..only 53 kilometers..
up Richter Pass and down into the Simillkameen Valley
over the one-way bridge and the fast flowing river..
and we are back in ‘blooming Keremeos’,,
parked in our usual spot..
time to re-group and re-pack..
Stay tuned for more from Keremeos!
