Talk with the animals?

April 21-22, 2016

Farm life is all about the animals..

005

..from Dogs

013

017

and Cats..

010

024

Horses..

001

006

004

and birds..

021

003

this little one looks like he is saying a ‘prayer?’

002

They all need to be fed and watered and picked up after..

015

These two beauties are in the pasture next to the trailer and they seem to be quite curious with regards to the ‘white box on wheels’ and of course, Tucker, too..

018

They hang their heads over the fence when it gets close to feeding time so today we fed them some baby carrots..they weren’t too sure about this ‘orange treat’..

013

dropping the carrots a few times before they finally got the hang of it..

016

Tucker, of course has his own ‘orange treat’..

‘throw the ring please Momma?’

020

Today was another warm day and we ventured to the backside of  the trailer in search of some shade..

The thermometer was acting ‘crazy’..

010

I have no idea what the ‘OFL’ means..but within an hour or so it was back to a normal reading..we are hoping that today will be the end of the warmer weather at least for a few days..

Orange clouds in the sky this evening..

021

023

A little bird family will be homeless this evening..I found their ‘house’ on the ground in the orchard..good thing they hadn’t moved in yet?

..spring has sprung here in Keremeos that is for sure..

warm days and cool nights make this a perfect time of year…

the trees are blooming..

063060

and the birds are chirping…and then there is a very large collection of frogs that croak through the night…

018007

Tucker enjoys his ‘freedom’ time..nice to run free for a little while!!

008

We spent some time in the garage today..organizing our ‘stuff’..what to keep..what to bring and what to leave behind..

the process went rather quickly..

022

only a few of the blue bins are coming along for the summer adventure..

023

We are trying to travel light this season..no sense bringing along  stuff we don’t need!!

Friday morning we woke to rain hitting the roof..a strange sound that we haven’t heard in a while..the rain was short lived so at least the outside work was completed..

It was ‘wash, wax and build day’..

The trailer was in dire need of a wash..thanks to the tree we were parked next  to at Nk’mip..’raining sticky sap!!’

001

008

Doug also built a new platform for under the stairs..we left our big ‘stairs’ at the storage lot in Osoyoos..

004003

the barn cat, Crusher, decided to give it a ‘four paws up’!

006

While Doug was busy outside I made a casserole for dinner..’slum-gullion’..nothing fancy, just kraft dinner, hamburger and a can of diced tomatoes..

007

and some cranberry muffins and a loaf..

010

Tucker spent the day ‘guarding’..

002

and the ‘little boy?’..he held down the ‘big boy bed’ for most of the day..

011

so there you have our week in Keremeos..

onward to the weekend..the chores are complete and we are heading into the ‘big city’!!

  1. Such a pretty time of year! And a very nice spot!

Way to go Doug...a nice job to get done and over with! If you want more practice washing trailers come see us...we still have that sticky sap (that covered the Arizona dust) all over ours!

    Enjoy the "big city"!

  2. If that is an Indoor/Outdoor thermometer, it is reasonable to believe that OFL stands for Offline. That happens when the indoor module has trouble reading the outdoor module. Could be a weak battery in the outdoor sensor, but since you're moving stuff around, it may have been blocked for a short period. They don't read continuously but sample every few minutes.

  3. We have an indoor/outdoor thermometer that puts the time and temp on our bedroom ceiling...I couldn't live without it..It helps to tell you whether to put on sweats or shorts..
