Time to ‘Roll’

October 9-November 6, 2016

As I write this post almost a month has passed since we left Tunkwa Provincial Park..the last week we had to work was a ‘white one’..almost looked like Christmas..

002004

We had a few ‘diehard’ groups..

014

but we also had quite a few empty sites..

006

016

We wondered why we were still here?

017

Frozen water lines  inside the trailer..no damage done though, thank goodness..

But within a  few days…we had blue sky at least..the temperatures were still chilly at night though..

020

The park closing process began and within two days we had everything done..the park signs down, equipment put away for the winter…

024

Hugh moved his rig into the compound for the last few days…

026

We left the park on October 14th..leaving Hugh to do the final lock up on Sunday morning…

hard to believe that we had been parked since May 1st..time to get the wheels rolling again…

029

So long Tunkwa..see you next April..

030

our next destination  is Keremeos…our home base..we will  rid ourselves of our ‘summer stuff’ and pick up the ‘winter gear’…

033

035

We even made a trip  to Vancouver for a few  days..we stayed at the  Sandman Hotel in Langley…a lovely hotel..clean, comfy and very spacious..

On the agenda was  doctor/dentist and family visits…We did our share of shopping  as well..making the  trek to the new Bass Pro Store that just opened..it was  on Doug’s list of ‘must do’s’..

036

The visit went quickly and before we knew it, we had to head back to Keremeos….

039

The fall colours are amazing..

042

our golden boy turned 8 years old on Halloween…

Happy birthday Tucker..

045

We left Keremeos on November 1…

056

058

..onwards to our ‘winter home’..a short 50 kilometer drive..

Nkimp Rv Park..

062

We are parked in site C-15 this year..with a view of Osoyoos Lake out our back window..

063

094

the park is full this winter..so we are most grateful to have a place to call ‘home’…nice to see some of the familar faces again this year…

093

092

So as we slowly settle into life at Nkmip..we had the opportunity to go on a ‘free’ wine tour..with a group from the park..

Over the past few years we have visited a few of the wineries along the ‘golden mile’ but this one was one we had not visited as yet..

The Intesection Winery on Road 8..

069

Mike and Louise came along for the fun..

070

We met last year  through RVillage and stayed in contact with them through the summer..

074

Wayne and Diane (our neighbours from last winter) also joined the tour..

076

There was wine tasting of course and some cheese and crackers, as well..

091

and of course, we both made a purchase…

090

..that brings us up to date ..today we spent the morning walking the dog at our usual place..Haynes Point..

098

Tucker on his ‘table’..number 13..where is that ‘Saphira?’..

100

oh well, my new friend, Louise will share the spotlight with me..

103

so..that’s it for now…more from Osoyoos when the mood strikes…
