Settling in..

April 16-26, 2017

The past ten days have gone by very quickly..

We got settled in the compound within a couple of

days…

The tent survived the winter..sort of..seems that it collapsed with the weight of the snow..so it wil be a bit ‘wonky’ for a while…

The spot next to us is ‘waiting on our ‘co workers’..

We unloaded the truck and stored the bins we brought with us on the shelves in the cabin..

IMG_3503

We hope to have some time to go through the items and hopefully we will be purging some of ‘stuff so it will be a lighter load when we head back to Keremeos..

IMG_3502

The washing machine and dryer are up and running..

IMG_3504

The lakes are still ‘iced over’ so the park is closed for now..

The Canada geese are enjoying their very own skating rink..

Our days are filled with the park clean up..

Tucker has free run of the park for now anyway..

He enjoys his ‘table top photo op’ and riding around the park

The bathrooms are clean, garbage is picked up…and the signs are hanging  and gates are unlocked..It’s time!!!

IMG_3523

..the campers slowly started arriving last week…

IMG_3522

..a few familiar faces came  to stay for a couple of days..

IMG_3525

Ross and Deb and Mike and Louise..our last gathering till next winter!!

IMG_3533

As I write this..the ice is now off the lake and the fishing has begun!!

IMG_3530

..and the campers have started rolling in…

So for now we will enjoy the calm before the ‘storm’..

  5. Beautiful park made ready for a new season by the fearless volunteers! I noticed Tucker has bells on his collar, is that to warn the bears?! Hope it warms up soon especially with thawing lakes in the background!
